On September 9, 2017,The Western Pacific Railroad Museum hosted the 100th Anniversary of the Sweetwood Red Cross Military Blood Car, honoring "Charles O. Sweetwood" a WP employee killed in action during the Korean War, September 8, 1950. Dedications and honors were made to Julia Rigutto Pagan, an original nurse of the blood car, the Sweetwood family, and those who made this unique "Blood Bank on Rails" a reality. Tributes were also paid to Charles O. Sweetwood and our nation's veterans, which included a 21-Gun salute to Charles O. Sweetwood. Documenting this incredible event was very important to our client, WPRM, so they asked us to lend a hand.
