Graeagle, Ca (July 29, 2015) – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Michael Clawson, iPhoneographer, will be featured at Red House Art Gallery for a Meet the Artist Reception on Saturday, August 8th from 2-4 p.m.
At the Meet the Artist Reception, Clawson will reveal his new works of iPhoneography inspired by Sci-Fi and fantasy. It’s a small collection of work with visual influences from surrealist painter, Salvador Dali and Post –impressionist painter, Vincent van Gogh.
The profusion of colors, allusions, and images intertwined with snapshots of local Graeagle scenery make for a spontaneous assortment of eclectic art – encapsulating the artist’s perception of his intended gaze. The intension that results from this debatable logical or inquisical methodology creates a rather multidimensional edge to the work.
With his interest in the iPhone and related touch devices, Clawson developed a skill and admiration of photography. “Beyond simply documenting the details of our lives, iPhoneography and touch devices are shaping a new movement that’s connected to a more real sense of touch and interaction that produces art in a very real and natural way,” says Clawson. “Creating art on the iPhone and touch devices is an emotional, tactile, experience that’s very different from older methods of shooting and editing traditional works.”
“What we love about our Meet the Artist Reception is not only the chance to highlight some amazingly talented artists, but provide an opportunity for the public to personally interact, “said Toni Carl, owner of Red House Art Gallery.
Clawson’s career has taken him into design, which includes a hybrid combination of designer and developer with emphasis on graphic design, digital branding, photography and communication. Clawson has co-authored Foundation Adobe Edge Animate, blogs for Enlight an iPhone-editing app, and beta tests for Adobe. As a speaker, Clawson has presented at several industry specific conferences, including Adobe Max and MacWorld. Today, Clawson is exploring his art and photography in expositions and gallery exhibits.
